I need some help cutting off time on my swimming strokes.

I have practice monday thru thursday for an hour each. Then i have swim meets on Friday, which I do 5 events. When i can, i go on the weekends for aobut 1 hour to 2 hours.

I'm thirteen and my time isn't as good as I would like it for the following strokes.

Freestyle:

My average time for a 50:

:43 seconds

My goal for the 50:

:40 seconds

My 100:

1:53

my 100 goal:

1:40

Backstroke:

my 50:

:50 seconds

my 50 goal:

:45 seconds

Butterfly

My time is decent but during the second length of my 50 I get tired and slow down. Even though I do lots of laps, my endurance isn't great.

My question:

what can I do to shave off those extra seconds?

  1. wow i think you can do alot better than just shave off 3 seconds from those times. i suggest you work hard in practice and NEVER take a break during practice unless your coach tells you to. with i suggest is kicking ALOT. also, for freestyle, you should fricking go all out with your arms . just think about your 50 this way: its only about 40 seconds of your life. you have one chance so dont blow it!

do many pushups. i think you are underachieving your goals by only shaving off like 3 seconds. try to get your times to mid 30's for all of your strokes. i suggest you pull out of the 100 races since your endurance cannot even surpass a 50.

    i hope you improve GREATLY.
