Cvs pharmacy tech questions?

As a longs tech, I am curious what our pay scale will be when we are cvs. Also is it true there is no vacation pay for part timers And what about the employee discount .At longs it is 60-70 percent.

At CVS the employee discount is, I believe, about 15%, and you cannot combine it with a sale.  Also, they are very strict about getting their techs to scan for Extracare cards.  They are the most stuck out about having prescriptions ready within 15 minutes.  They have one of the worst reputations in my area.

One of my techs is from CVS and he says it starts at about $7.50/hr and may be adjusted for cost of living.  You may be able to get more since you are a veteran technician or if it is in the buyout contract to maintain the technician salaries at current level.  See if Longs did anything contractually to protect your interests. He said that you get 30 % discount on all CVS products and 20 % on everything else.  Good luck and if you ever need a job in Ohio, let me know and I will get you into a hospital.

I have also heard that CVS is very "bottom line" oriented so the first answer is probably a good prediction of what you will be seeing when they take over.  Good luck.  David
