  1. Possibility? They are already ADDICTED! I know the 'usefulness' of Internet in our present life yet it's such a 'THING' that makes all the unexpected matter to this generation. Hour after hour in front of the monitor, typing keys & meeting so much unrealistic affairs makes this generation to think bizarre at times. They don't get enough chances to face the real society, real people, real nature. I'm afraid of my children who never happened to see or watch the 'firefly' or a spider-like water insects that walk on water! ( I saw them at my boy-hood in the remote village of our). They miss the dew on the edge of the grass in the very early morning; they miss plucking fruits direct from trees by themselves & so many of the natures are far away from them due to addiction of so-called cyberspace. Well, they know better to travel to the Alien world or to fight against imaginary 'enemies'-----ultimately remain behind of the realities of the present. Thus they use to apply their brain or behavior that way with us & to the real world. "To Respect" has lost the respect to these guys & 'slangs' have become their routine language. For a simple cause, they start using slangs which means, they are losing patience. I admit that at a certain age they become adult or grown-up gentle men/women------but the earlier experiences(!)  somehow works in their daily life-----at homes, at work places, at jobs---everywhere. One day these will not be noticeable because their presence in this society would be majority!

  2. how right you are!

  3. i don't think so b/c it may be very interesting, but for teens, there are, in my opinion, many more intersting shows to watch that do't require a minute just to divide 2 numbers

  4. It's not just our faults:

We NEVER get assignments that do not involve the Internet. Every teacher will assume we have the Internet automatically. When I was a little younger, our Internet time was regulated in half hour slots, but I mean, it's become such an expected part of society, it's kinda hard to avoid.

Teens are enjoying it because they are one of the first generations to enjoy this. I mean, we all know the joke that our parents cannot get the Internet/computer working because they didn't grow up with it as we did.

It doesn't so much "satisfy" a teen, but it certainly keeps them occupied. Myspace, chat and Facebook can keep you connected with people you hardly remember and there is endless information on the Internet.

So yes, all teens are going to get addicted to the Internet. I mean, we already are and do not know it. Could you imagine a world without the Internet? Fact is, there WOULD be no world, we would all be a disconnected mess because we lean so heavily on this invention.

But this doesn't mean we will be completely computer-centred. I still run, go out with friends, draw, write etc. The future will hold a lot more computers, but that won't be the end of originality.

  5. well just look at myspace and facebook, all these social networking sites are dooming our kids to never know what a true social life is really about.

but the bigger danger to our kids is MTV and all the unreachable expectations they fill kids heads with.

what ever happened to going out on a saturday and just playing ball or using ones imagination to have fun.
