I know to cylce a tank fully takes like 3 weeks but when can you put fish in i don't care if they die too much i'm only starting cheap.

Some people are like oh yeah i put fish in 3 days after i started my tank and they all lived and some people are like it took 5 weeks for my tank to be ready is this true or am i getting muddled up with adding fish and cycling tanks.

I have a 10 gallon (35 litre) tank set up ready planted 2 days ago got some artificial wood cave shaped thing and this barnacle where fish can go inside. I have had the tank up for 6 days now could i add fish?

  1. yes i agree

danios and wcmm (white clouds) should be fine to add

  2. you could your starter fish what are going through the cycle with the tank

    like danios or white clouds

  3. While you could use any fish to cycle your tank from the get go the only way to tell when your tank is cycled is water tests.  Some tanks take a few days while others take weeks.

Yes it is safe to add fish to your tank test first.

Second, if you have not tested the tank, lobsters and shrimp are not yet ready to be put into the tank.  Shrimp and lobsters are more water sensative.  Frogs will be fine (again watch the ammonia levels it causes burning)

Also watch keeping lobsters, crabs and shrimp all in thesame tank.  Your lobster may make quick meals of them
