Cycling and motorists in the U.S.?

Why do motorists think cyclists get in their way when, cyclists can legally ride on the road.

The only people that need to drive fast are those in emergency vehicles.

I keep encountering people who insist on passing me on a double yellow line, despite the law saying that is a 'no passing zone'.

i have never really seen emergency Vechiiles going faster then normal

traffic even with siren and lights activated
