  1. Hey Jordan,

It depends on where you want to teach and what type of spin cycles they are using.  Where I teach we have to be certified to teach on the specific spin cycles that are used in the Workout facility.  I would go the the gym you want to teach at and ask them what certifications they require for their spin instructors.  Just make sure you have your CPR and First Aid certifications up to date before you get started.  Those are always the two main basic things they ask before you get started.

I am certified through Precision Cycling which makes Star Trac fitness equipment, Spinner Bikes and Johnny G which used to be owned by Schwinn.   These bikes are all essentially the same, but for liability purposes the gym wanted us certified for each machine.  Good luck.  Spinning instructors make pretty good money and stay in shape at the same time.

  2. For the UK ! I could only find this one, there is a phone number on their site page, you could try giving them a call to find out more without committing to anything, and also ask at your local sports centre what their requirements are.

Group Indoor Cycling Certificate - If you want to teach group indoor cycling (aka Spinning) classes this course will give you the skills and the qualification you need. It is an internationally recognised certificate from Central YMCA Qualifications and will give you 16 CPD points from REPS.
