I am going to be living in Edinburgh from September and I would love to cycle competitively and was wondering how I would go about it and what the start up costs would be? Are there any good websites that could help at all?,what sort of times are decent for various distance races (UK)

  1. Road or off road? SXC organise races throughout Scotland and there are a few folk in Edinburgh that compete.

http://www.sxc.org.uk You can check the times for the various catagories on the result link. If you like XC you should go and ride at Glentress, near Peebles, great fun

    or

    if you prefer road.

Also check out the Edinburgh Co-Op. People who know about it travel from the length of the uk to buy a bike there.
