Cyclist, Mark Cavendish joins HTC Columbia team for the new Season
The veteran cyclist from Great Britain, Manxman Mark Cavendish has joined the HTC team for the new season of cycle racing. Now the ace cyclist will race for the HTC Columbia Vuelta team.
New season is going to be a better season for him, as he is enjoying the best time of his professional cycling career. This year Tour de France edition went fantastic for this twenty five year old veteran, as he was able to win five stages of the tour. Now Cavendish is going to start his debut cycling race for his new HTC team in the tour of Spain with nine new team mates and riders. The tour will start from the Saturday coming week.
HTC Columbia team has definitely gotten stronger with the addition of such a talent rider. While talking about Mark Cavendish and the new improved team of HTC for the new season, Director of HTC Tristan Hoffman expressed his views very excitedly. Hoffman said that now with the addition of Cavendish, their first goal is to clutch the stage wins as soon as possible in the upcoming tour. Later he expressed his views and said that the HTC team is much stronger now with Cavendish and the talent of this veteran rider cannot be ignored. Hoffman said that this tour is going to be the first tour of twenty five year old rider with the team HTC and that is why he will try to give his full during the race. While talking about the difficulty level in the Tour of Spain, Hoffman said that the upcoming tour is not at all easy for any rider but he is very confident about Cavendish because he has performed amazingly during the Tour de France. Hoffman added that climbing over steep mountains will not be very difficult for the veteran rider, as he has already done that in the French tour.
The upcoming tour is definitely going to be a test for this rider from Isle of Man, as he has to prove himself and to keep his team's hopes alive. Last year's tour of Spain was won by the Spaniard veteran cyclist Alejandro Valverde. Now it is up to the newly added rider to fight for his reputation and glory.

It is also reported that Cavendish is more interested in participating in the upcoming World Championship road race which will be held in Australia in October, than to participate in the Tour of Spain. But Hoffman seems to be denying the fact and said that Cavendish is very focused and loyal to race for Vuelta team. But whatever the point is; the 163 kilometers long World Championship race is going to be held in Melbourne, Australia in October and Cavendish will also love to participate in the event because he is considered to be one of the best riders of the world. By participating in the World Championships road race, Cavendish will try his level best to clutch every little chance of success, as he is eyeing to surpass the record of British legendary racer Tommy Simpson.
Coming back to the Tour of Spain, Mark Cavendish will be supported by eight other racers from his new HTC Columbia Vuelta team. His rivals will give him and his team a very tough time because the weather is not going to be harsh as it was in July in the event of Tour de France.

Cavendish has been facing Dental problems from the start of this year and was suffering from the lack of mental fitness while sprinting in the French Tour. His apparently delayed start for new season can also cause a problem regarding his mental preparation. However, Mark is still feeling confident and is of the view that he will perform like never before, as he is now much more focused and experienced than before.
