Cyclist Kim Kirchen facing heart problems – Cycling News
Kim Kirchen, the famous cyclist who is only 32 years of age recently faced heart pains and forced him to withdraw from the Tour of Switzerland.
After the sixth stage of the tour, he started feeling the pain but then gradually it increased and after the seventh stage he was unable to compete with the increasing pain and hence was shifted to the University Zurich clinic.
His team director Serge Parsani informed a little bit about his previous history. He claimed that Kim was facing such problems since this spring. During the race he was also provided with the medical facility but he was unable to continue the race after
the seventh stage as he was feeling lightheaded. Complete and final report from the hospital is yet to come, but his team Katusha is claiming that he will be able to recover soon. His followers are extremely concerned about his condition, progress and are
eagerly waiting for the medical reports.
Kirchen had a glorious victory in the Piva Col trophy during 2000 which gained him immense fame. Though he started in 1999 but that year did not prove to be successful for him. At a very early stage he has been awarded with the title of Luxembourgian Sportsman
of the Year. This title has been with him from the last six years starting from 2000 to 2006. This young blood was able to impress his fans through his excellent and passionate performance throughout.
The beginning of 2007 also brought victory for him as he was able to stand second in the Tour of Switzerland and win in the Swiss races.
His accomplishments continued as 2008 was also a memorable year for him. During this year he had an excellent performance in the Tour De France and was also able to win the Fleche Wallonne conquest. Later that year he faced the problem of poor stamina due
to which his performance was deteriorated and unfortunately he was removed from the UCI Road World Championship.
In 2009 he did not performed at the highest level and opted to take some rest. Then again in 2010 he returned signing with the Katusha team.
Now he is facing a heart problem and is under medical observation. Everyone is waiting for the proper medical report and hoping that he will recover soon providing his fans with another victory in coming up Tour De France.
