  1. Cyclones, Typhoons & Hurricanes are all the same thing. A storm which grows in size & strength over water; it cannot survive on land which is why they cause coastal destruction.  Tornadoes are land based caused by low pressure & high pressure mixing together, these rarely occur over water.

  2. Cyclones, typhoons and hurricanes are all the same thing, just oringinate in different parts of the world. Cyclones form in the indian ocean, hurricanes form in the atlantic ocean and eastern pacific, and typhoons form in the western pacific. Tornadoes are storms that form on land and do more destruction. Hurricanes usually stay below 150mph winds, but tornadoes can have winds well over 200 mph. Now if the tornado forms on the water, or moves from land to the water, then it is a water spout.

  3. Cyclones & typhoons are the same thing just from different regions. a hurricane is a an atmospheric depression caused by warm air from the caribbean meeting cold air from canada & a tornado similar but on a smaller scale. I think. I trying to remeber high school geography here which was 20 years ago.
