Cymbalta Withdrawls?

I was on 20mg cymbalta for mild depression. not really having signs of depression other than being tired so much.but blood work and everything was normal so i was put on cymbalta . it worked. gave me energy and made me feel better. but i decided to go off of it. i started to go down to one every other day then one every 3 days and so on. now i am off of it but having with draws. I get very light headed and my heart wants to beat out of my chest. any ideas to help me through the withdrawls with out having to go back to my doctor .

  1. What you are having is something called "discontinuation syndrome".  It feels more like withdrawls to the person who is going thru it.  I had that with Paxil.  It took me 3 tries to get off of it.  I think that you are going off of it too fast.  Tell your doctor you want to get off of it and they can give you a taper schedule.

    It is a bummer that it is delayed release capsule because then it cannot be cut to be tapered and you are already on the lowest dose.

    On paxil I had anxiety, nausea and vomiting.  It took a good week of that before I got better.  I went off of it very slowly.
