Horse racing enthusiasts will be looking forward to the Platinum And Lace Gentlemen’s Club – Brighton Handicap Chase which will be taking place at Fontwell on 22nd March, 2012. This race will cover a distance of 2 miles and
2 furlongs with a purse of £1,819.
Try Catch Me is racing with the odds of 11 to 4 in this race. Trained and owned by Mrs Alison Batchelor, the son of Commander Collins, out of Misty River, has not been able to acquire a first place finish in this season.
In his first race of the season, the seven-year-old gelding finished fifth in the Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Handicap Chase at Folkestone on 17th
January, 2012. He made mistakes on the track, and lost the stamina to compete with the other runners.
He secured a placed position as he was coupled with Mark Quinlan in the Betfair. For Better Odds Handicap Chase at Fontwell on 7th March, 2012.
Cypress Grove is entering the race as a favourite with the winning odds of 7 to 4. The bookies are considering him for the victory, as he has previously raced on this track, succeeding both times.
On 19th October 2008, the son of Windsor Castle, out of mare Grecian Queen, defeated Local Present by 1 ½ lengths in the Toteswinger Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race. His next victory at Fontwell came recently. On 7th
March, 2012, he defeated Devils River by 3 ¼ lengths in the Read Nicholls And McCain On Betfair Handicap Chase.
John Ryall trains the nine-year-old gelding for P. J O’Donovan, both the owner and trainer believes that his prospects of winning look strong.
With two consecutive finishes in third place, She’s Jolly looks tough. The daughter of Jolly Jake, out of She’s No Tourist, started her racing career on 2nd
January, 2012, where she finished last in the EBF at the Races New Predictor “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle.
The Linda Jewell trained seven-year-old mare will be making her debut on this track. With experience and time, this runner may be the one to look out for.
Things are looking up in Cypress Grove’s favour as the punters are excited about his performance. He may ace this track for the third time in his career. Try Catch Me may look for a finish in second place where the lightly raced She’s Jolly may finish
third.
