  1. Cyprus like Malta introduced the Euro in Janaury 2008, one year after Slovenia. The next country to join the Euro zone is likely to be Slovakia.

  3. Yes, we changed to the Euro in January this year, and I think the banks finally stopped exchanging Cypriot pounds at the end of June.

    If you are coming to Cyprus for a holiday, just bring a small amount of Euros with you, and change the rest of your money at any of the many exchange booths when you get here, you will get a better rate of exchange than that offered in the U.K.
