  1. no problem

  2. my mum lives there doesnt affect them

  3. yes they have no water

  4. I live in Pafos and every year it's the same story. This year it's a bit worse because there was almost no rain last winter so the water dams are almost empty.  In my area the running water is cut twice a week, but all that means is that I can't use the garden hose... All houses, hotels, restaurants, etc have water tank reservoirs so the days that the running water is cut we can still use the reserved water to take showers and go on living a normal life.  If you come on a holiday here you will not even notice that there is a water shortage! By the way, if you do come to Pafos, I hope you visit my mexican restaurant:

  5. Yes there is water shortage in Cyprus but there are no effects to the people living there and to the tourists. The water supply is twice a week off ( in most areas)  for 24hrs each time but all house and tourist lodgings have water tankers. The truth is that the problem occurs during the summer almost every year. As far as l am informed there no serious effects. People are just careful not wasting water...water in Cyprus and in other islands as well is precious, much more precious than oil!

  6. Yes, we do have a severe water shortage...and there has been talk of shipping water in from Greece, but it should'nt affect the tourist areas in any way.

I live in a village just outside Agia Napa, and our water has been turned off on a couple of occasions, but it hasn't been too much of a problem! We can collect fresh water from machines ( to be found in most areas) at any time, so we generally have a tank of fresh water to hand anyway.....most households do this because of the high mineral content in tapwater.
