  1. Well, I was going to explain PCOS but I guess that is already taken care of!

I will just say that I have moderate PCOS and just had my first baby last year without any meds so it is possible. I tracked my fertility using Natural Family Planning and I think that was the main reason for our success.

To increase your odds you can eat healthy and exercise, take prenatal vitamins, start tracking your fertility (google 'fertility awareness') to see if and when you are ovulating, and find a good doctor if you don't have one already. Good luck!

  2. I have what I assume your being tested for and that is Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS... Basically what it is is a bunch of little tiny cysts that cover your ovaries and make it difficult but not impossible for your body to ovulate. There are different degrees of severity though. With me, the only thing that happens is I don't get a period and I have an underactive thyroid. Other people get worse symptoms. PCOS CAN cause infertility, BUT there is no way to tell 100 % if your one of the women that are going to have problems or not. I got pregnant with my daughter the day I lost my virginity, no problems at all getting pregnant. I didn't find out until she was 2 that I had PCOS. What they did was put me on birth control to regulate my period, and problem solved. I went off of my birth control because my insurance ran out and got pregnant IMMEDIATELY after. I had a miscarriage but it wasn't related to the cysts. We started trying again immediately after the miscarriage and I am now 10 weeks pregnant. Don't worry too much about it, cysts don't make you barren or anything, they can just complicate things. The good thing is if they diagnose you before you get pregnant there is a lot they can do to help you get pregnant and help you maintain a healthy pregnancy. If you get your results and you do have cysts, and you have any questions or just someone to talk to you, you can email me- missa1871@aol.com. :) Good luck! OH!! And don't believe everything you read on some of the websites about cysts because they tend to generalize all women into one catagory and it's impossible to tell if you would have problems conceiving or not until you have actually tried. And in reference to your other question about ovulation, yes you can still ovulate, just not necessarily every month. Women with cysts can have irregular periods, therefore irregular ovulation.
