Cytron TV

Question

Guys , my landlord has a stupid Cytron tv which has a fucked up remote. I bought this Philips PM435S universal consolidator remote but it doesn't work for my tv. I have the code which is 0446, the remote accepts it [ manual says the blinker will turn off if the code is right] but it doesn't work? Can anybody help? or i just drowned 10 $ in drain?

i am trying to set a emerson universal remote to my cytron tv as the regular remote went to pot . can you give me any clues
