The diminutive Czech midfielder, Vaclav Pilar, joins Wolfsburg after impressing in the 2012 European Championships.

At the tender age of 23, the youngster has a lot of experience for some one of his age, he has around 13 caps for his country and has scored 3 goals in the process. Pilar is a product of Hradec Králové’s youth academy, who he helped
win the Czech title back in 2009/10 by scoring ten goals.
The midfielder was later sent out on loan to Viktoria Plzen in 2011/12 season and scored seven goals in 25 appearances for the club. At Plzen, the attacking midfielder gained invaluable UEFA Champions League experience and featured

After putting in impressive performances for his national side, the diminutive attacking midfielder has drawn comparisons with the Argentine http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296. The 23-year old admits that it is an honour to be compared to such an accomplished
and complete player.
He joked his size may have been the main reason behind the comparison, at 5ft 6 inches, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Czech-Republic-c2882 international shares the same height as the Barcelona playmaker. He insists no one can be compared to the legendary forward
but he was happy to be called the Czech Messi.
"It feels great, of course it's nice to hear that. I'm not especially big and that's a reason why we're a little bit similar. There is only one Messi, but I like the nickname nonetheless." He is quoted as saying in an interview.
In the January transfer window, the midfielder announced that he signed a precontract with Wolfsburg and will join them in the summer of 2012. Pilar is a great addition to Felix Magath’s side who will look to win back their place
in the top four of the German Football.
