Czech Republic women’s team ready to rumble at the European League – Volleyball news
The 2012 CEV Women’s European Volleyball League is set to be kicked off on Friday, June 1 with a total of 12 teams.
Women’s national volleyball team from Czech Republic will also be on board to prove its supremacy on the centre court. Czech ladies will be on a special mission to improve their ranking this year. The ambitious Czech squad participated in the 2011 edition
of European League but could not manage to dig a spot in the top-three.
However, the team is once again ready to embark on adventure. This time Czech Republic will have the competitive edge of playing at home in the first round of the tournament. The city of Brno in Czech Republic is scheduled to serve as a host to first week
matches of Pool C, which will be composed of teams from Israel, Greece, the Netherlands, and hosts Czech Republic. The “Vodova” sports hall in Brno will set up the field of play for the thrilling encounters.
Elsewhere, Serbia and Bulgaria will host Pool A and B matches. In Pool A, hosts Serbia will have to cope with the power of visiting teams from Spain, Romania, and Hungary. Likewise, Turkey, France, Bulgaria, and Switzerland will play under the tag of Pool
B teams. In the light of defined rules for the competition, each participating country will get the chance to play at home.
Czech squad will enter the competition under the command of head coach Carlo Parisi, who is determined to lead his team to success. Parisi recently attended a press conference, where he was joined by the President of the Czech Volleyball Federation Dr. Zdenek
Hanik and local Lord Mayor Roman Onderka.
They were asked different questions about upcoming venture of Czech Republic team. The Italian mentor of Czech Republic Parisi discussed various prospects of the upcoming campaign. He assured that his team will give out ‘the best’ performance.
After the completion of League Round, tournament will head to the Final Round that will also be hosted Czech city Karlovy Vary. Czech Republic is already pre-qualified for the final round on account of being the host nation. It clearly shows that Czech Republic
will have no pressure on it during the League Round. Rather it will serve only as a practice session for the team.
Currently, the team is undergoing extensive training and practice for the competition. It is likely that the Netherlands will create a bit of trouble for Czech Squad in the first week. The Dutch have done really well in the recently ended Olympic Qualifiers
in Turkey.
Nonetheless, Czechs are ready to collide with the archrivals. Check back for more details and news updates.
