The Women’s Senior Volleyball Team of Czech Republic has started preparation for the final round of the 2011 CEV Volleyball European Championship. The most influential final round of the tournament is scheduled to take place in the coming month of September.
A total of sixteen teams survived in the early stages of the tournament.
The teams have been divided into four pools, while the composition of pools is as followed:
Pool A – Germany, Ukraine, France, and Serbia
Pool B – Turkey, Azerbaijan, Croatia, and Italy
Pool C – Israel, Romania, Poland, and Czech Republic
Pool D – The Netherlands, Spain, Bulgaria, and Russia
The Czechs will have tough competition with Poland and Romania in the pool fights, which requires them to be prepared beforehand. The Pool C matches will be staged in the Serbian city Zrenjanin.
The Czech team has high expectations for a memorable performance at the 2011 CEV Volleyball European Championship. The mentor of the Czech Squad, Jiri Siller, is working on goals for individual players and for the whole team as well. Siller has to
do a lot of work as the team is composed of young players who need experience.
The training team roster of Czech Republic is missing out on some key players. The star players of Czech Republic Women’s National Team, Michaela Jelinkova and Ivana Plchotova are staying out of the team on account of some injuries. Likewise, another dynamic
player Lucie Muhlsteinova, is currently staying in Poland. The setter of the Czech Team is playing for a local Polish club. On the other hand, the duo of Helena Havelkova and Aneta Havlickova are busy with the Italian national league.
The mentor of the team, Jiri Siller shared his thoughts and stated, “I do not want to make any predictions. It is extremely difficult especially since we are only about to start the season and we have players coming from quite many different national leagues
whose health and condition after a long club season are really unknown. Anyway, I still assume that our fans will be enjoying some good Volleyball from both teams. We invite all Volleyball fans to join and cheer us, as we need their support to fight for every
single point”.
The girls are geared up to compete and looking forward to playing as a team when the competition starts.
