Question:

D&D 3.5: Can someone provide for me a character progression please?

Okay, so my girlfriend is trying to get me back into D&D. I haven't played in over 7 years since back when I was like 9. I was playing AD&D and first edition back then. I have kept sort of up to date on the systems and I do have all the core books up to 3.5 and I have access to every side book.

So I call upon the D&D aficionados that may frequent Y!A to help me figure out a decently optimized character progression. I was thinking of starting as a two-weapon ranger and then multiclassing to rogue for the sneak attack benefits. I want to be a character who can jump into and out of battle to flank and get sneak attacks off. I'll usually be playing with at least 4 other people, so I'm thinking this would work. I absolutely know for sure that I will need the Spring Attack feat and its prerequisites but that's about all I know right now.

I'd like my character to be human, or a half-character at least. And I'll be dual-wielding kukris because of their high threat range. Our DM/group is weird and doubles sneak attack damage with criticals, so I might as well take advantage of it :)

So can anyone give me a guideline of what I should do each level? Something like this format would be great:

Level 1: Ranger: Choose so and so feats, skills, etc

Level 2: Rogue: Choose so and so feats, skills, etc

etc.

This would really help me get back on my feet with the latest versions. I use to know the old versions inside and out and I'm not use to not knowing all the little tricks and loopholes to character creation :(

Thanks for reading all of this :)

If you need any more information, just ask for it, and I'll update this question.

Also, please no "D&D is for nerds, lololol." I have fun socializing with my friends and letting our imaginations go wild. Deal with it.

  1. If you really want to be overpowered and just dominate the game go with the PunPun build. :)
