Question:

D-Link Router DIR-615 wireless problems

When it's connected to the laptop through the ports behind it, it connects fine. But when I try to connect through wireless it never works. Help please!

  1. Power cycle your network. Turn everything off.(modem, router, computer, etc.) > Wait 5 min. > Turn on modem > Wait 2 min. > Turn on router > Wait 1 min. > Turn on computer. See if that fixes the problem? Also, make sure that no encryption settings are engaged initially, until you get a connection.

    Edit: 1) Make sure all wires on the back are properly configured. Cable from modem goes into WAN port and cables from computers go into one of the 4 LAN ports on the back of the router.

             2) Make sure the router is configured to be the DHCP server in the web utility page, if your are using more than one computer. The LAN connection Properties for each computer are configured so the TCP/IP properties(IP and DNS server addresses)are acquired automatically.
