D Link headache Can you help?

I bought a D link router and I set it up, Your supposed to go to the site and do the settings which half to me might as well be in another language so anyways I turned on my laptop so I can connect it on my network. It does show my name on the list, I put the password and nothing. So it's not working at all and I feel like I have to do this from the beginning. Anyways it's a D Link wbr 2310

If you want a real answer we need to know more......do you have a modem connected form your internet provider????? if so you need to turn off the setting that mentions DHCP.

This will let the modem configure every thing.

You need to click on the wireless tab and then security to setup a wep/wpa key.

It's very difficult to explain via Q&A not knowing what's been done and what hasn't.
