D o I get free towing on California highways?

As far , as I know , in LA is free, and even police will help u on minor repair or shortage of gas.

How about other cities?

  1. no there is nothing free even if you pay nothing do you think those people have cars that run for nothing, or they get gas for free, someone somewere is paying.


  2. Sure the towing is free, but the impound/storage fee aint.

  3. I would say that most people that have full coverage on their vehicles with towing and rental do not have to worry about this but at the same time in Texas there is no such thing as free towing but the police do sometimes help you move your vehicle off the road.

  4. In parts of the state, Caltrans has contracted with private towing companies to patrol freeways during rush hour, to keep traffic moving and remove stalled vehicles.  These special tow trucks are painted white with a special door decal, and they can tow your car, fix a flat or even offer you a gallon of gas.

    Called the Freeway Service Patrol.  It is funded by a small fee on your annual vehicle registration.
