  1. They are ghost investigators right? So how can anyone believe in their investigations, when their motto is "When in doubt, get the h**l out!"

They are not serious investigators. It is just tv, out to make money.

  2. When it first aired, it had a sense of reality and validity to their investigations.

Now, I believe nothing about them and have stopped watching, because it is predictable now. Can't blame them. Without the added melodrama ratings would slip and wham.

Their methods are about as tech as possible.

  3. I think that they started with good intent.  Now it's more about the money and advertisement for Roto-Rooter.  That's how they get so much time off of work.

  4. I'd love to have some of their equipment.  I  really don't get the dark thing, how are you going to see a ghost in the dark.  I don't believe in being rude to people, dead or alive also.  The last thing anyone should ever do is challenge a ghost or spirit,  they seem to do that a lot.  One of these days they are going to  make the wrong spirit mad at them.

  5. I agree with you on some level.

I don't think one can possibly get decent proof of anything when they are only investigating for 5 hours or less.

I think it would be more beneficial if they were to set up shop someplace for 2 or 3 days.

  6. I think they do some great work and their techniques are good but need some improvements. Yet its not my orginazation it's theirs. but I feel to have an accurate reading of a location it needs to be more than just a few hours. Maybe a few days, to really read a location well. At least thats how we do it here in texas.

  7. No their methods are unreliable - just like the rest of us. We cannot produce ghosts on cue like some TV programmes.

The best they - or any serious hunters can do, is set up the equipment, do a sweep for emf fields, and wait.

These guys were plumbers (and still are) but because of their trade - found certain places.....inhabited. This would have started an interest that has grown with public interest. If it wasn't for the publicity, they would still be doing it - just to find out themselves.

There are now a great many investigators around the world. We are hoping to establish an international network of vetted investigators - with an aim of eliminating the frauds and those unreliable thrill seekers.

This is the aim of the IPI - look them up. It's in it's infancy at the moment, but hopefully should go the right way.

If nothing else, they have contributed to the learning curve of others, and raised awareness of the existance of things that go bump in the night.

  8. Their methods are better than most. I believe in their honesty. Can they be fooled by their instruments or tricksters? Perhaps, but they've also collected some interesting evidence.

  9. I would need to study their metods a little more before I could give you an answer.

  10. I enjoy the show myself. I think they are in and out to quick a lot of the time but they do show you at the end what they found and they try to disprove it. I think their methods are good. But they do seem to be a bit into "showbiz" now.

  11. Yes, I believe that The Atlantic Paranormal Society exist.

Their methods are greatly lacking from the time they allow the investigator's to know the story before they go on the investigation (so from the start) to the actual investigation where they often set up at times that nothing has been reported (for example if activity was reported was at 1:30 a.m. they are often finished with the investigation by 11:00 p.m.)

Contrary to popular belief staying several days usually does not result in any additional (or often any) activity. A team of physicist from Japan stayed at the Marfa Lights (a mysterious but natural phenomena) for 30 days with no activity.

What is by far a better technique is to conduct experiments (and quasi experiments) like TAPS did on one episode attempting to find a way a door could come open when it was shut and locked. However, I would only do this after gathering any possible evidence to base experiments on by being present at the times of reported activity.

Also, most groups have time considerations (they might be able to stay an entire weekend or return for additional investigations though).

Many people (and especially businesses with haunted reputations) will not allow non stop investigations of their property so that criticism is often unfair to the investigators that are not the ones that choose to not stay.

Yes, TAPS could conduct better investigations and parapsychologist and other qualified scientist should peek their heads out of the ivory tour of academia and laboratories once in a while and actually suggest better methods for amateurs attempting to investigate and help people.

  12. Ha.  This is just a TV reality show.  It is not a scientific investigation of any kind.  To even hint that it is, would be a joke.

Real scientists would never stop laughing at this show.

It is just for entertainment.   They try and play on your mind by going to scary looking places, and through the power of suggestion  make you believe that there are ghosts.  Ha, they don't know.

I enjoy this show, and it is entertaining and funny.  But it is not any kind of serious investigation.  If there was any creduality to this stuff, real scientists would be all over it.

It's a TV show.  Nothing more.

Am including a link that they said was some kind of ghost at a prison.  Ha.  You can see the bottom of the guys shoes as he turns and runs.  Give me a break.

  13. As for the question"Do you believe in TAPS?  Well of course I do silly its on tv isnt it?!

As for their methods....ITS A TV show!!!
