D you know how to design a heart beat detector?

i wana deign a sleep monitoring device which can find out breath, heart rate and brain waves. does any one know this please help me, im realy stuck please help.

I don't know how to obtain permission to ask a bunch of questions about how their equipment works, but that sounds pretty cool.

Or just look it up online, via google or another search engine.
