DAIRY QUEEN! lol?

Question

ok so i think i am going to apply at dairy queen. (i'm almost 16) if you've worked there ever...how was it? is it hard to make all the food if you have no experiece...are people nice? and do people give you tips?

DQ was actually my first job as well.  It's not bad for a fast food job...usually they have several employees who only work on the grill, and the rest do the front counter, drive thru, etc.  Meaning if you don't do grill, all you really have to know how to do is make ice cream, which is super easy.  That and work with customers and take orders which sucks, but that's the food industry.  The pay is usually close to minimum wage I believe, grill makes more... and generally no you won't get tips.

I worked at DQ and it sucked! My boss was the meanest man I have ever met, so make sure you get to know the boss cause he made working there a living h**l. If it wasn't for him, then it wasn't too bad. However, some of the customers are super mean. I've gotten high, drunk, freaky customers. I didn't even get free ice cream... it was all 50% off :( Old people tend to complain about prices a lot... Once you get the hang of making all the blizzards and food it's not that hard, but then you realize you're memorizing all this stuff that you'll never use in your life again after DQ haha. People did give me alot of tips so that was nice, but its truly up to you but just keep all that I've said in mind.

People are decent, I guess.

Generally you won't ge tipped in the fast food industry tho...

Pay is pretty much like minimum wage..

Not great..

But for a first job that's alright.

People don't tip you at fast food restaurants, sorry to dissapoint.

u'll need practice with the cones....blizzards are easy....mix and blend....slushes are made already....sundaes are easier than cones anyday.....no tips
