DANCE TEAM T-SHIRTS-help!?

Okay so I instruct a 6-9 year old lil' hip hop class and I wanted to have them make some t-shirts... I either wanted them to be custom made, or have the kids write on t-shirts with puffy paint or fabric makers, I was wondering what kind of material the t-shirts should be made of so the fabric paints look good and go on easyly.

Thanks,

Alejandra

  1. i'm thinking that anything will work. idk

  2. I think a cotton/polyester blend would be best

100% cotton will twist and shrink in the dryer.

I also think you should pre wash the t shirts - they will come with a "coating" before washing and may interfere with the adhesion of the fabric paint -

don't forget there is sparkle paint too!

Sounds like a really cute idea -

if you have them use 2 colors like pink and black they would look darling for a recital with black tights.  If you get the t shirts a little bigger the girls could pull one side of the bottom of the shirt through a big pink or black buckle -or maybe rhinestone - the kind that you slide a strap through.
