  1. To improve your splits...

Find a piece of furniture that comes up to your waist, like the arm of a couch. Put one of your ankles on the couch and stand as far away as you can from it. Keep your other leg on the ground, and lean over so that your chest is touching your knee. Hold this position for a full minute. Twist your body and stretch one arm over your head, so that your hand is touching your ankle. Twist the other way and stretch the other arm. Repeat this stretch for the other leg.

For music, try something like "Make it Work" by Ne-Yo or classical music for ballet. Try some broadway music for tap. Hope this helps!!

  2. sit in splits while watching tv. i did that for a week and finally got my right and left splits. im inches from straddles. do squats to keep inner thighs and your booty toned. (i need to do them myself, lol!)

  3. Being skinny isn't essential for being a dancer, as long as you are fit and healthy you can do it.

I always find listening to songs from dance musicals inspire me and remind me of the goal i want to reach.

Sitting with your legs out in second is an obvious stretch to help with the flexibility of your legs, you can do this while watching Tv or whatever... but remember dont over-do stretches, ive done that before when trying to get more flexible and i ended up hurting my muscles so had to stop stretching for a while.... effectivly going backwards!

    hope this helps

    good luck!!
