If not, when do you think we have reached the peak on the evolutionary scale?

  1. Evolution is God's tool. Yes, we are still evolving.

  2. I think we are supposed to but last time I checked, we're still on strike...

  3. Physiologically it's not as obvious.  I suppose with climactic changes, as well as exposure to new health concerns a form of natural selection is taking place concerning human immunology.     Emotionally, and cognitively it appears more obvious human's are varying with technological advancement and changing socio-economic conditions.  We are subject to so many new stimuli with new mediums of multi-media, and communication.  This has to be having an effect on our cognitive process.  Take computers for example.  Through use of computers for emailing, and txt messaging etc. we are  writing less and less with pen and paper.  So I suppose typing is improving while writing and penmanship ability in the traditional sense, through disuse, may progressively worsen.  This is a possible example of Natural selection taking place which might influence human's physically, cognitively, emotionally, etc.  Small variances over time make a big difference far down the line.  Maybe well grow a few more fingers for typing! 4. I heard that we won't (stop evolving) as long as our environment keeps on changing - and it does. Our bodies will forever be finding a way of surviving in whichever conditions there are until the changes will become to fast for us we will eventually die.

  5. Humans didn't evolve.

Darwin had a THEORY.  Darwin stated, "Find the missing link, and it will prove my theory."

Archiologists haven't found a 'missing link' when digging for a change from one species into another.  They have only found changes within the same species.

Darwin saw a tadpole change into frog, but failed to observe the notion that a tadpole has changed into a frog for many years, and nothing more than that.

Don't let a theory make a monkey out of you.

  6. Yes, genetic researchers are following the "ticking clock" of gene mutation backward on the World's creatures to solidify & document the "fact" of evolution.  Human chromosome #2 is little more than the fusion of 2 chimp chromosomes... the chimp having 48 & humans 46.  The recent "reverse engineering" of DNA broken down by bacteria has led to a prediction of a complete sequencing of the Neanderthal DNA within 2 to 5 yrs. Having recovered "some" DNA from the T. Rex fossiles... it appears that dinosar was related to modern chickens.

The driving force in evolution is the survivability of offspring to the age of reproduction... thus increasing the gene pool & ability to adapt to changing situations.  Advances in medicine & culture have allowed many that previously would have died in birth or early childhood to pass on their genes. Rather than "deevolving"  as some would suggest, this simply increases the gene pool & allows for increased mutations that may or may not enhance future survivability. Specialized life forms find it hard to adapt to changing conditions.

DNA researchers have followed the human migration path out of Africa & documented relatively recent evolution (the last 50,000 yrs) in Africa, the ME, Europe & Asia.  Evolution constantly changes the World's lifeforms.

  7. Homo sapiens are still evolving.  Next stop:  Homo Economicus!

  8. Evolution never quits.

  9. No Humans never evolved, they were created. Charles Darwin himself did not "invent"  evolution. He believed that life was created by god.  He wrote  about " the view of life, with its several powers, having been originally breathed by the Creator into a few forms or into one" . He meant that life was created by God and that this "theory" had limitations. So  although Darwin is credited with the theory of evolution he in fact believed that life was created. What he wrote about was actually natural selection, survival of the fittest etc not evolution. Check out the truth of the quote in " The Origin of Species" by Charles Darwin, Mentor edition 1958, p. 450.

  10. No. Have you noticed who breeds more? We're not evolving. We're devolving.

  11. Man there are some stupid people in this world. How are we ever going to survive?

  12. Evolution has no peak and no direction; there is no scale and yes, human populations are still evolving just like every other population of living organisms on earth.

  13. i am not a monkey and never been, i am made by God..i have soul from Him..a monkey cannot evolve in the beauty of a man /woman who shows the beauty of God, and angels actually...hi!
