Question:

DAT and dental school admissions info?

Okay, I just wanted to know the best methods of studying the DAT that has worked for others. I have heard about tons of material floating around, and don't want to waste my money, so I am asking you all. I understand what works for one person may not work for another, but in general here is what I'm asking. Also, anyone that has faced admissions committees, I have a couple questions. Are they more concerned with sci GPA or *** GPA? I have a 3.45 *** and 3.8 sci. Also, I work in a (General) Chemistry lab at a community college and tutor for the professor there on a daily basis. I also tutored math at the same school for about a year, so I have many great "LORs" that can be written. How many hours of shadowing a dentist is sufficient in the ADC's opinion? Also, I have plenty of hours of community service ranging from volunteering with a hospice to working with school kids on the side (Big Brother/Big Sister) and reading to them. Most of these kids are from disadvantaged backgrounds and it makes my heart warm on the inside to know that we make a little bit of difference in their day. Anyways, this is way too long. I just would like anyone's input as to what they think I could do to strengthen my application. Thanks so much for any info in advance!
