D’Agostino disappointed over Fiorentina losing bid to Udinese Calcio – Serie A Transfer Update
Udinese midfielder, Gaetano D’Agostino, has expressed his disappointment for having to leave his club for the upcoming 2011/12 season. The midfielder’s future was to be decided through a blind auction and the Viola were outbid by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Udinese-Calcio-c40789, who secured
50 percent rights of the player.
The Italian international was keen to stay at Stadio Franchi but his future now lies with the Friuli outfit. D’Agostino was kept at Stadio Franchi as a backup for the first choice central midfielder, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Riccardo-Montolivo-c31049, who got injured half way through the
season, and the 29-year-old was used as a permanent starter in Montolivo’s absence.
D’Agostino, while talking to the media recently, expressed his distress over the incident as he was expecting that to stay on with the Gigliati. However, things came out differently which was a big setback for the midfielder. While talking to Firenze Viola,
the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 player said:
“I’m saddened by how things went. I was really hoping that Fiorentina would keep me. You all know how much I wanted to live in Florence, how much I wanted to end my playing career with the club.”
“I’m disappointed for all the Viola fans too who showed me great affection. I don’t feel sorry for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sporting-89-c40576 director Pantaleo Corvino or the club though.”
The player further revealed that he is yet to talk to Tuscan officials regarding the situation and that he will discuss the matter only once he is back from vacations.
“I’ve not spoken to anyone and I don’t even want to think about it right now. When I get back from holiday I’ll talk to Udinese,” concluded D’Agostino.
It is very likely that the central midfielder will not stay at Stadio Friuli in the upcoming 2011/12 season and would be keen to take a walk away. The midfielder was previously connected to the like of Juventus FC, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809. However, it
will be a few weeks before the situation gets predictable for the playmaker.
