DC d**k LeBeau awaits coach Mike Tomlin’s nod to return to Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 – NFL News
Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is expected to confirm return of defensive coordinator d**k LeBeau into the role in 2013 to clear uncertainty and desperation that the team’s defensive line has shown over fears that LeBeau might call it a day from the
National Football League (NFL) at end of this season.
The veteran has been a part of the league in various capacities for last 54 years. This includes an eleven-year stint as a defensive coordinator with the Steelers. Now rumours have it  that the 75-year-old official might decide to end the reign once and
for all, to the much displeasure of Steelers’ defence players, especially safety Ryan Clark.
Ryan said:
"I didn't want to hear it, so I've told him, `If you try to leave, well, you didn't see me and tell me, so you can't. That would make you not to be a man of your word, and I know you as such."
Later, the official attempted to clear the air and subdued feelings among the players, saying he has left the matter for the head coach to decide, and if Tomlin wants him back he will be back next year into his role.
LeBeau said:
"Let's just say I really like Pittsburgh and I really like working for the Steelers. Coach Tomlin will tell you if he wants me back or not. It will be up to Mike."
It is likely that Tomlin confirms his comeback officially after the Browns’ game this Sunday, as no one in the league, who is aware of LeBeau’s record, suspects that the head coach can have another choice on his mind.
Since the DC’s second returning to Pittsburgh in 2004, the Steelers have ranked among top five defences in the league. The record includes three Super Bowl games the team has played under reign of the coordinator, winning two of them.
The Steelers are the league’s best defence in last two seasons, and LeBeau has been seen an architect of the strong defences the team posses. With stars like linebacker James Harrison, safety Troy Polamalu and Ryan Clark, the Steelers’ defence is one of
the most feared in the league.
