Okay so when I was little I loved Batman but I kinda feel out of comic books as I lost steady access to them, but recently I have found comic book shops galore in my town centre and have been reading allot of it.

I've read: The Killing Joke

The Long Halloween

Dark Victory

Batman:Vampire

and am part way through the Fugitive series

Can you suggest anything else in the same vein as those stories? (apart from finishing Fugitive lol)

  1. Have You read Preacher?

  2. Dark Knight Returns

    Arkham Asylum

    Joker The Last Laugh

but by far my best recommendation is Batman:Year One

in my opinion the best Batman comic written

  3. The Dark Knight Returns has the weird artwork style, but it's the best Batman story.

If you're looking for a great story that isn't pure Batman, check out "Kingdom Come" and "Justice" from Alex Ross.

  4. I'd stay away from the newer Grant Morrison stuff and the All Star Batman with Frank Miller.  You pretty much listed all of the classics, but if I were you I'd hit "The Greatest Joker Stories Ever Told" which has two amazing stories (The Joker's Five Way Revenge and The Laughing Fish).  After that, pick up "Batman: Detective" by Paul Dini for some really good stuff.  It's worth reading "Batman: No Man's Land" as well.

  5. Batman : Hush! Two of the greatest artists and writers come together for sheer greatness! Its epic. But personally all batman is greaaat.

  6. You should try the Superman/Batman series, theres some good stuff there. Batman and son. The ressurection of Ras Au Gul. By Batman;vampire is that all of Crimson Mist, Red Rain, and Bloodstorm?
