I have just 2 ways that I serve at CG(cost guard) or Navy.

I want to be a Firefighter, so I'm planning to serve DC at CG or Navy.

Which one is good for becoming a Firefighter?

I served at Army in my country.

I don't have citizenship, have Green card, so I can't join Firefighter of Air Force..

  1. I think you need to get citizenship here before you can get the rate of firefighter in the CG or Navy. Being a veteran of another country may be a conflict of interest for US armed forces. Talk to a recruiter.

  2. I was surprised to find out that serving for an armed force of another country does not automatically prevent you from joining the Coast Guard.  You can enlist, but to re-enlist you have to be a US Citizen.  I believe DC is one of the few rates you can become as a non-citizen.

I don't know anything about DC in the Navy, but DC in the CG won't necessarily help you in becoming a fireman.
