my dear i think you need detail of dd surcharges in banks.

this is 10 % of the dd commision and not the total amount.

for example a dd commision is  50 rs then the surchage will be rs 5 and the total commision is payble by you is 55 and after that you have education cess of 3% which means you have to pay addition 1.65 rs. the total cost will come as 56.65 for a dd which put charge 50 rs.

the demand draft  charges  vary from one bank to other . in some bank it is as higher as 0.40 paisa per thousand .and in the some bank the minimum dd charge is as high as 40 rs for a 1000 rs draft.
