  1. Dual Channel references two memory sticks that work in unison to give you a better performance than two separate sticks. As long as you have two slots then dual channel should work fine for you and would even be a little better.

  2. Dual Channel memory is WAY better than buying two 1GB RAM sticks. Those two RAM sticks may not be compatible. Also, Dual Channel RAM sticks were tested to work together in their best configuration. But one thing you must know is that in order for Dual Channel to work, your motherboard must support it. If you get Dual Channel RAM, but your motherboard does not support it, it will run in Single Channel.

If you don't know what Dual Channel is, Think of it as having 2 expressway lanes compared to 1 expressway lane, which is Single Channel.

  3. you can use dual channel ram but it would be a waste of money.  youre paying probably 50% more for dual channel compatibility.

just buy 2 seperate 1gb sticks or a 2 gb combo (preffered)

  4. it is better you buy memory sticks. they are cheaper and more preferred.
