  1. Bracken fern (releases cyanide)

Castor beans (used to make ricin)

Poison ivy (minute quantities cause severe itching)

Deadly nightshade (some people died after eating 3 berries)

Poison hemlock (was used as execution poison in ancient Greece)

Aconite and henbane (two favourites with assassins and murderers)

I'm willing to bet there are more poisonous plants, but these are some of the most dangerous that I know.

  2. There are the poisonous ones, but depends on which area you live in.

    Hemlock,

    Deadly Nightshade

    Foxglove

    Castor Bean

    Giant Hogweed

Do you include fungi in this list such as the death cap etc.

How about environmentally deadly plants such as invasive species, agricultural mono-crops (most notably GM crops).

In Gaia J. Lovelock describes a situation where a algae escapes and covers the planet smoothering everything in its path (He puts it a bit more better though!)
