the expressions (9x+5)degrees and (11x-25)degrees represent the measure of two angles of a regular nonagon. find the measure of an angle of the nonagon.

please explain step by step instructions. including how to substitute and what not

  2. The angles are going to be equal, so simply set the two expressions equal and solve:

    9x+5=11x-25

    Subtract 9x from both sides:

    5=2x-25

    Add 25 to both sides:

    30=2x

    Divide both sides by 2:

    x=15

    Now plug that in to one of the equations:

    9x+5 with x=15 means 9*15+5

    Which is 135+5

    Which is 140 degrees.
