DELL OPTIPLEX, with 64 mo RAM and hard disc 9 gb I want to put in more RAM.?

Can I replace the existing 64 m, SDRAM PC 133 CL2, with 2 x 256 mo SDRAM PC 133 CL3, it is the CL2 to CL3 that I am not sure about

  1. YES.

    You will have to take it to a pc repair shop they always have old ram knocking about. You might have to go to several though coz its not common anymore..

    Have a fish around, but try buy old memory not new because it will cost more than the pc.


  2. What the heck?  You're better off just getting a new computer.  That thing is worth about as much as a paperweight.

  3. Mmm! You have got a problem! Going by the specs you have given that is very old. I very much doubt if you could find RAM compatible for it now anyway. Technology has advanced so much. Factors to consider is the motherboard and the CPU. Will they be able to run it?

    The only thing I can suggest is to take the RAM out and go to a computer workshop where they have all the reference books where they could do a proper search to see if it is upgradable.
