Extractions 7 @ $200 each

Anterior RCT excluding restoration 4 @ $750 each

Post & Core, Prefab 4 @ $300 each

Corwn Por/high noble metal 4 @ $1300 each

MX Flexi-Partial Denture $1500

TOTAL: $12,3000.

--------------------------------------...

He wants 50% of this paid at the beginning of treatment and the remaining $6150 within one MONTH after initial treatment.

This is the same dentist who already received over $7000 for bottom work and, who just recemented a top bridge which is now causing a painful swollen lip and nostril pain and left sided headache. He did NOT premedicate me despite saying I had a "ton of infection" thus sealing in the bacteria and wants a $70 fee JUST for him to look at my swollen face.

I believe he IS a good dentist, but everyone is flabbergasted at the nerve to ask 70$ to see me after the inflammation. MOst of this is to avoid a top denture. I'm in my 40's.

PLEASE give me your HONEST feedback!!

THANK YOU =)

  1. You didn't say where you live, which makes a big difference. If you have not had a doctor exam in over 6 months, the asking for the 70 is understandable. However, if you have paid for an exam in the last 6 months it isn't good of him to aks for this if he just did the work. However, inflammation after crown/ bridges is normal, and if you haven't had your cleanings done this may have a lot to dot with it. If you are in a bigger area this is a pretty decent pricing.

  2. I'm not a dentist, but I just had a lot of work done and I can match my prices to yours, for comparision...

Extractions were anywhere between $186 and $208

(Upper was $186, Lower was $208)

RCT for tooth #11 (front left) is $547

    RCT for Molar is $771

Porc Crown / High NM for the Molar is $783.00

Fillings range anywhere from $118 to $179

Of course, I live in the South East so that might be the reason for the price range.  But overall, the amounts sound pretty close.

I can't believe that he's going to charge you $70 to look at your face for work that HE did.  Has he been your dentist for a long time?  Through any other major dental work?

When I recently had several extractions done my dentist scheduled a post op exam for me.  I am considering some bridge work for the front (as well) in the new year (as soon as new insurance kicks in, as I've exhausted all of mine for the year) and I am pretty certain they'd follow up with that as well.

I mean, think about it, your mouth and your health are like a walking advertisment for your dentist.  You'd think that he'd want you to be passing along good stories, not bad ones.

Good luck on your swollen lip and I hope you get that issue resolved!

  3. Like ^^she said, it depends where you live...
