  1. um...coal.

  2. C

  3. Carbon molecules can be arranged in a variety of different configurations.  One of these, perhaps the most famous, involves the carbon forming immense networks of very securely and tightly-bonded atoms.  These collections of molecules, called Diamonds, are immensely strong as they are bonded at a molecular level, and are practically indestructible.

Because the molecules are aligned in such an ordered pattern, the diamond is almost completely transparent.  It can also be cut into a very precise shape.

  4. according to legend diamonds are made by the pixie people combining star light sparkes together whilst underground to give them light.

  5. Pardon my French, but Cameron is so tight that if you stuck a lump of coal up his @ss, in two weeks you'd have a diamond.

  6. Fragments of carbon.

You can even take a dead relatives ashes and have them made into a diamond.

  7. coal.

  8. there made from dropping left by the bumms at tent city

  9. Diamond is an allotrope of carbon.

It is the hardest known natural material.

Just in case you're planning to make your own diamonds: diamond formation requires exposure of carbon-bearing materials to high pressure (45 and 60 kilobars), at a certain temperature (1652–2372 °F or 900–1300 °C).

These conditions are known to be met in two places on Earth; in the lithospheric mantle below relatively stable continental plates, and at the site of a meteorite strike.

  10. carbon

  11. Millions of years ago pockets of carbon dioxide existed deep beneath the Earth's crust.   Extreme heat and pressure caused the carbon atoms to crystallise forming diamonds.   Pressure built up causing volcanic eruptions that brought the diamonds up to the surface.

  12. Pure carbon

  13. Super crushed and heated carbon

  14. Carbon, really when you think about it they are fossils coz they have take thousands of years to form well beneath the earth, so, why a girls best friend ?when you can knock next door have a coffee and a chat to a real Friend . regards

    Ryan Dior.

  15. I think they are made from carbon, that has put under immense pressure and heat over a long period of time.

  16. It is carbon and if you see any marks in it that is called an inclusion, witch takes value away from it

  17. Pure carbon.

  18. Carbon!

  19. compressed carbon under ground for millions of years turns chemically in to diamonds by natural heat

  20. Carbon.

  21. Diamonds are made of carbon under extreme temperature and pressure.

Natural diamonds are coloured because of impurities such as nitrogen. Follow the second link for details

  22. caol that has been compressed and heated at high tempretures for thousands of years

  23. CARBON originally,

but years later the become other things then diamonds.

  24. highly compressed carbon.

  25. Snikleback, as well as the others, are correct. Snikleback makes an interesting observation. Since our body's consist of mostly carbon, nitrogen, and hydrogen, a diamond is really the result of a bunch of crushed dead bodies heated and compressed over millions of years. Next time you look at that sparkle, you could be looking at some old guy's hairy @ss.

  26. carbon under pressure and heat makes a diamond

  27. carbon molecules arranged in a tight crystal lattice.
