Wal-Mart is a beast when it comes to their pricing strategies. Essentially they bully manufacturers' into giving them the lowest price possible on their offerings. And with Wal-Mart being at the top of the "food chain" a company would be foolish to not be on Wal-Mart's shelves.

Wal-Mart and Target actually have two different targets, from an economic standpoint. Wal-Mart targets the lower class to lower-middle class, while Target reaches out to the middle to lower-upper class. With that said, the price difference isn't that big of a deal when you take into consideration the shopping experience at Target compared to Wal-Mart.

Someone mentioned how far they have to go to get to Target. However, it is interesting to note that this is dependent upon what part of the country one lives in. I thought that two when I lived in AL and in GA. However, now that I live in Seattle, Wal-Mart is SO far, few and between. Targets are plentiful, albeit not as plentiful as Fred Meyer's, which is a chain that lives in the Northwest area.

Actually it's cheaper than that when you consider (in my case anyway), I have to drive 5 or 6 extra miles to get to the nearest Target, while I have a Walmart practically across the street.

wow, i wish that they had more meat so that my mom won't have to go to another store just to get them.
