DIVX codec PROBLEMS?

Hello..

I have windows Vista.. and have been watching torrent downloaded movies for more than 5 years now..

Lately i have been a problem not getting the sound.. I get the picture but not the sound.

I tried installing the divx codecs so many times with no use..

divx / xvid is a video codec: it encodes the picuture but the sound is seperate and independent.  mp3 and ac3 are the most common sound formats.  you can run your file through Gspot (see link) and it will let you know what audio type it is.  But my bet is you need ac3, so head to free-codecs.com and grab the AC3 filter.  the mp3 codec is there too, but I would guess that isn't you issue.
