Question:

DIY Flowers??

I'm thinking of ordering my flowers for my wedding from Sam's Club, however they don't come in the colors I want. There is a review on their site that someone used floral paint and painted the white daises the colors they wanted. However, it doesn't say where you can get this. Does anyone know anything about this? Where I can find spray floral paint to paint my flowers?

  1. Hi.  I have never heard of that and would be very leery of doing this.  I don't think spray paint and fresh flowers go together.

Are you wanting some unusual color?  I know my local Walmart let's you special order flowers in certain colors, but I don't know if you are wanting something very unusual other than the regular:  pink, white, orange, red, yellow.

You might try this site also.  I have ordered from them and can testify to the on time delivery.  Even though it's called "rose source" they also have many other flowers:

IF you do want roses, click on the various colors (i.e., "red roses", "pink roses", etc.)  There are many, many different shades and variations in each color group!  I never knew there were so many "red" roses until I ordered.  Also look over the "novelty roses."  Very, very unusual groupings of colors.  Again, they also have gerbera daisies, carnations, alstromerias, tulips.  You name it!

    Good luck!

  2. My answers may not be what you're looking for, but it worked for me. I created my own bouquets (nosegay style) for myself and my bridesmaids for my wedding. I used silk flowers from Michaels (they have a great selection!) and the colors were extensive. The bouquets turned out so beautiful - they looked good on the aisle and in all the pics! I wish I could show you the pictures with the flowers in them, even the closeups with the bouquets by our faces - you couldn't tell they weren't real! I used ribbons to wrap the stems and left some trailing in colors that matched the dresses (a unique peachy-pink and cream). The best part is - I still have my bridal bouquet and it will never die or change color. You can even have it preserved with your gown afterwards! Even better - making your own silk arrangements is A LOT cheaper than using a florist - I mean A LOT!!! Don't get me wrong, I had a very expensive 150 person wedding, but I used the money I saved on things like florists on other things that were more important to me. I hope this helps.

  3. There are lots of other places you can order your flowers that might have them in the colors you want.  I decided against ordering my own because I didn't want the stress but I know it can work out fine.
