  1. The yard I'm on costs us £100  a month so it would  depend on  what they charge you. I am on a Diy but there is some one who helps us if were on holiday.  So I'm sure a diy yard would have someone up there who will help you. Plus a part livery you don't enjoy doing the hard work yourself.  Have fun

  2. It varies a lot as does the facilities you get.

My friend used to get turnout plus stable plus storage space and use of outdoor arena for £15 a week DIY.

But I know a livery yard where full board is £70 and you can just turn up and ride ( outdoor arena with jumps)

Best bet is grab a Yellow pages and phone around your area.

  3. Mines a DIY yard for £55 a month.

For this we get a stable in an american barn style block with 6 stables down each side with wood at the bottom and bars at the top.  Full use of running water and electics to both stables and field.  A barn for storage and all our hay/ straw (that we order seperately) delivered and muck heap taken away.

It's not too bad but as the farmer is getting on a bit we usually have to try and sort some things out ourselves, like field cleaning, water trough maintainance etc

In my opinion you get what you pay for and if it seems to good to be true it probably is.  Some yards start at DIY and have 'extras' you can pay for - i.e. £1 for AM turnout per day etc.

Not all are regsitered on websites or yellow pages so might be wise to ask around horsey shows or even try and visit a couple to look around and ask peoples views who actually stable there to get a proper insight to how its run.

    Hope this helps.
