Question:

DIY Wedding Flowers???

I'm thinking of ordering my flowers for my wedding from Sam's Club, however they don't come in the colors I want. There is a review on their site that someone used floral paint and painted the white daises the colors they wanted. However, it doesn't say where you can get this. Does anyone know anything about this? Where I can find spray floral paint to paint my flowers?

  1. I've only heard of that paint being used on silk flowers- I'm not sure there is anything available for actual flowers.  Daisies & carnations can be colored by putting them in a vase of colored water - they will absorb the water & change colors (hence the green carnations on St. Patrick's day).  It depends on what color you want as to how well it will work though.   P.S. - by the time you buy the paint & take the time to spray them, you could probably have paid the extra money for the flowers you want...maybe you could order the flowers themselves through a florist, but not have them arrange them?

  2. You can buy flower paint at any florist supply and at most craft stores in the floral section.  Be sure you're buying floral paint not regular spray paint.  The manufacturer to look for is Design Master - here's their website: http://www.dmcolor.com/

If you choose to buy your flowers through Sam's, do some snooping around and find out on what day their fresh flowers arrive and how soon after they've arrived you can get at the newest stuff.  Personally, I don't like Sam's quality; I prefer Costco.
