  1. Much more complicated than you imagine.  This is very specialized work and even though he is surely an expert on basements and walls, there are so many little details in pool construction.  So many ways to get it wrong and lose money.

My advice would be to approach an established pool service company who do pool rennovations and collaborate with him doing the walls and them doing the rest.

  2. You will need a building permit before you start asking about such things like where to put drains. You have to have a proper site plan which will include all the technical and engineering details beforehand. If you do not have the expertise to do this you will have to hire a professional installer who will know all the requirements, including where to put the drains.Once that is done, then you can approach whatever municipal authorities you would be dealing with.

  3. Trust me, it is worth the money to have it installed professionally. Also, to "just wondering" COMPLICATED is not spelled complected...you should look up the spellling of a word before you decide to imply that someone else is an idiot.

  4. pool building is a Little more complected than that it will be like building an elevator using a rope, pulley and a telephone booth yes you'll transport something up sure go ahead dig a hole line it with plastic put a shop vacuum moter in and run a drain line into your toilet would i be surprised to find out you live in a trailer park in Oklahoma

  5. Actually, I'd be interested to learn if any of these folks who answered you have actually done a DIY pool kit installation.

We are currently working on one at our home, just my husband, myself and a few friends.  It's not complicated, but it is time consuming and you have to be willing to do the work.  It is A LOT of work, but the payoff is HUGE and you save literally thousands of dollars.

If it is something you are interested in, do a google or yahoo search for DIY Inground Pool Kits - there is a ton of info out there to help you.  Good Luck!
