I wear glasses, but only when im out of the house, at work or out with friends for example, when i come home i take them off, i watch tv without them on and do other various household activities. i was wondering if this could possibly be casing my dizziness? i know i should wear them all the time, but i find them uncomfortable when i am at home.

  1. I presume you mean you feel this dizziness  when you are at home without your glasses on ?

Have you tried putting them back on to see if that relieves the dizziness ?

If it does, you will know that is the cause...

  2. Basically you need to go back to your OD and get an "RX check" . Maybe they made your glasses wrong.

  3. Some people do experience dizziness for 20 minutes or so after they either take off their glasses or put them on. Your brain sometimes takes some time to adjust to how it is percieving light. I know lots of people that do not wear their glasses in the house. My mom does this and is uite fine with it even though I see her RX as being one she should be wearing full time. YOu could go back to your doctor and see what they have to say about it, or see if it subsides if you wear them full time for a couple of days. I hope it goes away, I hate dizziness, but also know that dizziness is also a side effect of a lot of different medications, and also the symptom of several illnesses, so do not let this go without some sort of investigation! Good luck figuring it ou!

  4. Glasses can change the size and shape of things we look at.  When you move your head things may seem to swim.  This can cause lightheadedness.  Contact lenses do not have this problem.

Follow your doctor's suggestions on when to wear them.
