Question:

DMV - Where do I complain?

I purchased a new car about three weeks ago. I received a trip permit the day I purchased it - and it is now time for me to get a new one. I spoke with our DMV today and I have to share what happened... apparently, it takes four to six weeks for paperwork to get processed - but DMV only issues trip permits good for three weeks. So basically, regardless of what you do, you HAVE to purchase a new permit (only $20, but still) to be legal. Does anyone else think this is ridiculous? I know the government likes to take as much money as possible, but this seems like stretching it a little far. Why can't the DMV make a trip permit good for 6 weeks - the time that they say it will take? Does anyone know how I could file a complaint with the DMV about this?

  1. What is a trip permit?  I've never heard of that.

  2. yeah, well, I guess you won't be voting for government health care!!

The only place you can complain to, is your state congressperson.  Your elected officials.

Government is king.  They don't have oversight.
