heared that there is a security problem in the internet now a days I wish to know what is it and if any one has a link that illustrate the problem then kindly add it

  1. There is no current problem with DNS, the servers are now secured effectively and only allow updating from trusted sources. A private person using a bad DNS server will normally have their service terminated without notice.


  2. The previous answer is incorrect. A potentially serious security breach in DNS was recently discovered. The problems has been mitigated, and system and hardware vendors are coordinating to apply patches to fix this issue.

    The issue is supposedly very complex and difficult to exploit, and the people who discovered the issue doubt it can be exploited before it's patched. The specifics of the problem are being kept as secret as possible.

    If you system is affected, you'll likely be getting an update notification any time. My Xubuntu Linux laptop was patched this morning.
